We took a trip last weekend to visit the Detroit Zoo. Nathan seems to love animals, so we met up with Granny and Aunt Michelle and Uncle Rick for some fun. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...mostly to protect Aunt Michelle who stopped at EVERY statue in the zoo!

I can't believe you got a picture of a blue morpho with its wings open. I bet you didn't even have to wait 30 minutes for it to happen either. I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited and never got a stinkin picture of a blue morpho butterfly with its wings open... my favorite butterfly. I'm jealous.
I had no idea what a blue morpho was so I was glad the end of your post told me it was the butterfly!
Actually, I saw one when I walked into the butterfly room, and thought...I really want to get a picture of that one! I never could find one that was stationary. When we were leaving...after about 20 minutes...there it was, on the fronds of a plant right before the door! So I guess it was luck!
OK, that giraffe picture made me smile. It's just soooo cute! I love that first butterfly picture too! Looks like you had a good time.
