This is so silly...and so WRONG!

But it does crack me up! Try your own blog. Considering I can't spell worth a lick and I can barely read...I would really like to know what it is based on.

Thanks Anne for sharing this with me!

The Knot Michigan Spring/Summer 2008

Run out to your nearest bookstore and check out the Spring/Summer 2008 issue of The Knot Michigan now on newstands! Why?....because it is the first time my work has been in a publication...woohoo!

Congratulations to Jen and Tony who are one of the featured couples and were married this past May!

p.s. Pretend that that credits on the last page say JoNa Photography instead of Jennifer Dery Photography with a San Diego phone number. The pictures really are my work, but there is another photographer in San Diego who shares my name, so add this one to the list of mistaken identities. Kind of a bummer...but it is still fun to see your pictures in a magazine.

Thanksgiving Snapshots

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with many of our family members. The tradition of decorating the Christmas tree was almost finished when we arrived.

One of a million reasons not to lay down and try to sleep around this family!
Of course, there was some holiday love going around.

Some serious competition.

And lots of holiday cheer!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and you family!

I am so blessed! While there are many things to be thankful for....my husband, son and family top the list!

Thank you as well to all of my photography clients and friends who have allowed me to share in their lives!

We're off to brave the snowy roads to visit family. More on Monday!

Up North

My husband and I escaped last weekend thanks to my parent's generous offer to watch our son.

We had a great time sleeping in and just hanging out together and walking around Petoskey taking pictures...just for fun.

Here's my hubby in his "photo" pose.

Always the rule breaker (hee hee)...see him at the end of the dock?

I think he thought I just wanted to take his picture by this random boat and didn't pay attend to the "NO. 2" above his head. I crack myself up! Get it?

One thing I miss about film

Multiple exposures!

Yes, I am aware you can create the same effect with editing software and digital images, but it's just not the same to me. I'm sure there is an easier way to do it than the way I did it...so if you know how, feel free to share your tips!

Notes

I will be away from my computer for the next fews days (no internet and no email...YIKES!), so if you are trying to reach me, I will get back to you as soon as possible starting on Monday.

Also, a new services/pricing structure will take effect November 15, 2007 for portrait sessions. Any sessions after November 15th will reflect those changes unless you have already officially reserved your session with me (retainer received). Thank you for your understanding. If you contacted me previously but have not reserved your session, please contact me for the new information.

Have a great weekend!

Mandy + Nathan

Mandy, Nathan and I spent the afternoon wandering around Lansing today. They were up for anything...which is so fun for me as a photographer. I get to try different stuff, some works, some doesn't....but I think it is worth it for the things that do. These are my favorites from the session. Thanks for coming to Lansing guys! Enjoy your sneak peek!

p.s. to my photographer friends (or anyone else who cares)...some of these are my new lens in action. I love how "she" makes me break out of my "shoot it tight" rut that I get into.

Rachel

What a treat to see how much little Rachel has grown! I am honored that her parents invited me back to spend some time with them. Enjoy your sneak peek!

One of my favorite pictures from the last session was of Rachel and her dad, with dad buzzing his lips to make her smile and her giving him the funniest look back...like "What the heck are you doing dad?". I guess there will be a series of funny shots...here's the next one in the series.
