Jodi + Jason

So blogger just ate my 3 paragraphs of text for this post...so here's the summary in case it happens again before I can post.

Didn't know Chesaning, MI, existed before this summer when I photographed two weddings there.

Jodi's parents should open two new businesses...one that hosts weddings/receptions and another that does landscape design.

The weather yesterday was gorgeous.

I do have pictures of the ceremony and reception but I am more behind than usual with my last wedding and portait sessions, so this post is mostly my favorite candid portraits from the day (all shot at Jodi's parent's property). I will try to make-up for the lack of ceremony and reception pictures in the upcoming slideshow.

Congratulations Jodi and Jason! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

I guess I should throw in at least one picture of the actual wedding.

This might be one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. (Thank you Anne...I loved the image you did a while back with the couple under the tree with lights!)

Catherine + Ben

I had a great time getting to know one of my 2009 couples yesterday as we walked around Lansing. Catherine and Ben both live in Chicago and talking about it really made me miss living there.

Thanks you guys for making the trip back to Michigan. I can't wait to share your wedding day with you next year.

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Karen + Nick - The Slideshow

Grrr....my slideshow program would not cooperate tonight. I think this is the 8th or 9th attempt, so I hope it works!

Click here or on the title of the post to see the show.

Karen and Nick, thank you again for allowing us to share your day with you!

p.s. I received an wedding inquiry from an Amy M. several days ago. I have tried several days in a row, at multiple times of the day and keep getting a "delivery failure" message. If you read this Amy, please email me again and I will forward you the message I tried to send.

Updates

Just wanted to let any readers out there know that I have not forgotten my little blog. I am back to teaching for the fall term and once my son hits the sack, I edit...all....night...long.

Erin and Nick, David and Bethany, Karen and Nick....I plugging through your images (in the order in which they were received..Do I sound like an automated phone service?).
One of my new album companies has a holiday deadline for new clients. Since I haven't ordered with them yet (but want and need to get a sample to look at the quality of the prints, build, materials, etc.), I needed to design something small...quickly before their cut-off of Sept. 20th. Since I am not an album designer or graphic artist (I outsource my album design to a company who are experts), this is not as simple of a task as it should be. But....I got it done as quickly as I could and placed the order. I am not going to lie....I CANNOT WAIT to receive it! I am going to be so impatient waiting for what I am guessing will be at least 4-6 weeks, if not more.
Even though this post will get burried, I also wanted to say a special thank you to all of my wonderful 2009 wedding clients. I am honored to work with you all and can't wait to document your special day. Along those lines, I am closing the books for 2009 in order to give my clients the best possible service and a reasable turn-around time on their images while still being good mother, wife and teacher. If you would like some recommendations for other photographers, please drop me a line and I would be happy to share the love!
I am also almost completely full for fall portrait sessions. I do not currently have any time-slots long enough to accomodate non-local sessions, but I have a few spots for local sessions left on my calendar so if you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible.
Posts without pictures are not fun, so here are a couple of spreads from my sample album. (I have no idea why they are so sad-ly small or in a strange format...but no time to try and fix it now.)

Move over McQueen!

There's a new favorite character in town...at least temporarily.

Karen + Nick

We spent a wonderful day with Karen and Nick documenting their wedding in my hometown of Jackson, MI, this weekend. Their ceremony and reception was at Ella Sharp Park and Museum. It was a warm, but beautiful day filled with lots of love and laughter.

Wishing you both a wonderful honeymoon...and that the internet connection at the hotel works ;-)

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Gorgeous details on the dress.

I just love this portrait of Karen. A light off-camera light added just the little glow I wanted.

The head table was in front of a big wall of windows. It made for some dramatic lighting in this table shot. No off camera flash, and it was taken the same time of day as the image below it.

A beautifully simple and elegant cake.

I just love the look on Karen's face during the first dance with Nick.

The father-son dance (don't worry guys, I do have pictures of the mother-son and father-daughter dances too).

The DJ really had some unique ways to get the guest involved. No, that is not the DJ pictured below.

Maybe I should end this post on a different note ;-)
