Reason #76

...why taking pictures of another photographer's family can be a good thing.....

You don't have to explain why you want them to hold their baby and child upside down for a picture and then "hold it" until you get a good enough shot ;-)

And one more I really like. I think it might be the only time P smiled at me.

Do you do Boudoir Photography?

I can barely spell it, but yes, I do do Boudoir photography. But I find my clients typically intend for the images to be for one set of eyes only...and those eyes are not yours ;-) so I don't usually post the images on the blog.

However, I have had several recent inquiries and with the permission of this client, here are a few images suitable for the blog. I guess if pictures of bellybuttons and legs offend you...please do not scroll down. Most of the images presented to the client include her face, but out of respect for the privacy of this client, here are some "anonymous" ones.

Us

There is a reason I get behind the camera...so I don't have to be in front of it! I HATE having my picture taken. It is sad how few pictures we have with me in them. Right now, it makes me happy, but down the road, I know it might make me a little sad. I keep telling myself, I will get some pictures when I lose some weight. Well, the wait for the weight may never come, so I am glad I caved and have a few memories of me and my family, the way we are now.

Thank you Nicole for these cherished memories. For someone who values photographs of others so much, I am glad I stopped being a hypocrit.

The Barczak Family

Two photographers, their husbands and children, rain and a chilly wind...perfect day for a couple family sessions, right? HA!

Nicole is a fabulous photographer, so I was very nervous when she asked me to snap a few shots of her family.

I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek!

Lisa + Gabe

Genuine. It's the best word I can think of to describe Lisa and Gabe, their love, their families, their wedding celebration. Who knew Nov. 1st in Michigan would offer just lovely weather for their celebration at Brook Lodge in Augusta, MI? It was my first time to this venue and the grounds were just incredible.

Lisa and Gabe opted to see each other before the ceremony for a very touching "first look" and worked in time to their day to do some candid portraits which I love!

I hope you both have a wonderful honeymoon! Thank you for allowing Delia and me to share your day with you.

Tori + Gary

This past weekend was the beautiful fall evening wedding of Tori and Gary. The ceremony was at the MSU Alumni Chapel and the reception was at the MSU Union. I loved some of their unique details! Brett Maxwell was kind enough to join me as second shooter and I am sure he got some awesome images as well. Congratulations Tori and Gary! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I loved the details on Tori's skirt!

Fabulously elegant shoes.

The most unique holder for the rings I have ever seen.

So many cute pictures of this little one!

Loved the feathers in the hair.

Tori incorporated paper flowers Gary has made for her during their relationship into her black and white bouquet.

Each program had an actual photo of one of their engagement pictures on it.

Guess what Gary sees?

His stunning bride.

Sealed with a kiss!

The happy couple!

It was quite dark after the ceremony...and a little chilly too...but we snuck in a few portraits along the river.

A ring shot on Tori's gift to Gary at their rehearsal dinner.

First dance.

Damask details.
Lots of dancing.

And my two favorite shots of the night. I know these might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love them! Who knew a stairwell could look so cool!?

I have been without my computer and internet for the last 3 days so if you have emailed me, thank you for your patience, I will get back to you in the next day or two.
