Okemos Maternity + Family Photographer

Today I met a lovely family for a portrait session in their home to document their adorable 3 year old son Jack before he becomes a big brother in September.

I also learned a thing or two about candybars and how much confusion there is in trying to translate the U.S. and U.K. versions of things like Mars bars, Milky Ways, etc.

Meet Jack ;-)

Jack's beautiful mother.

Jack loves rockets and astronauts....

..and trying to eat my camera with Sharky.

I love this picture...wish I had one of my family just like it.

Go Green!

I was SO excited when mom wanted to belly paint.

I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek!

Holt Portrait Photography - Caleb and Oliver

What a wonderful family I got to know today...and lucky me, they are my neighbors! I can't get over the color block wall in Oliver's room...now, how to bribe his dad to come paint one of our walls!

There was so much cuteness during this session as you will see.

East Lansing Portrait Photgraphy - Little "L"

We feel so lucky to call little "L"'s parents our good friends. This little girl blessed to have wonderful parents and it shows in her good nature.

I am so glad we made a last minute stop at the MSU Dairy...because I love ice cream...I mean, because I love the pictures we took there!

Hope you guys enjoyed your sneak peek!

The White Family

There are a lot of things I could say about this family, most of which would come across as me being highly emotional...which is true.

Faith, strength, courage, love, joy....these are the words that come to mind when I think of this family.

The list could go on, and I don't even know them as well as many of their close friends and family.

Oh, and the beautiful children are THE best behaved, kind, polite children I have ever met (and I am including my own son in the mix) and it is no doubt those traits are a reflection of their parents.

The way this family deals with the challenges they face in life remind me daily to live every day to the fullest and appreciate the many blessings I have, especially the people I love.

There are many friends and family wishing this family a happy, long and healthy future together, including me!

East Lansing Portrait Photography

It's been two years since I last saw Minnah. I was very excited when her mom called me to see if we could schedule another session while they were visiting Michigan from their home in Chicago. Minnah was even cuter than last time, but while last time she was all smiles, she made me pull out all the stops to get her to crack a smile this time. In her defense, it was really cold AND I am not very funny. Not even the candy corn trick could endear me to her. As I told her mom and dad...she's adorable even when she doesn't smile. See for yourself!

These girls have grown so much since I saw them last, but still cute as ever. Such a treat to photograph them again! I hope the family enjoys their sneak peek!

Lansing Michigan Family Portrait Photography

Wait for it..........

That was the theme for today, that, and bargaining (or bribery by some people's standards).

I love this family! I feel extremely honored to have documented this couple's wedding, Ethan's newborn and one year pictures and now some fun family shots in beautiful fall colors we are having this year.

Ethan wasn't really diggin' me so much at the beginning of this session, but I find that patience usually pays off and we did not give up and got some fun images. (Okay, I bribed the child with his first taste of candy corn...but a little candy corn never hurt anyone, right?) Eat your heart out with the cuteness factor of this family...and they are just as beautiful inside as they are outside!

Mary + John - Lansing Engagement Photographer

Brrrr......

John and Mary are engaged and contacted me to do a winter engagement session. It's always fun to do something a little different, so I was excited to brave the chill. I think my car thermometer read 23 degrees when I got out, but with the windchill I am sure it was much colder. They were such good sports treking around MSU campus and so were John's two boys.

This is my favorite. I just love it when pictures show such happiness and love.

Go Green!
I was determined to find some trees with color this time of year besides the evergreen trees. See that red? Look hard, its there ;-)

Mary had a brilliant idea and found a indoor location that was warm and had natural light!
I do have a 'nice' one, but I prefer this one...it is a new family favorite!

Congratulations you guys, you have a beautiful family! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.
