Tori + Gary

This past weekend was the beautiful fall evening wedding of Tori and Gary. The ceremony was at the MSU Alumni Chapel and the reception was at the MSU Union. I loved some of their unique details! Brett Maxwell was kind enough to join me as second shooter and I am sure he got some awesome images as well. Congratulations Tori and Gary! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I loved the details on Tori's skirt!

Fabulously elegant shoes.

The most unique holder for the rings I have ever seen.

So many cute pictures of this little one!

Loved the feathers in the hair.

Tori incorporated paper flowers Gary has made for her during their relationship into her black and white bouquet.

Each program had an actual photo of one of their engagement pictures on it.

Guess what Gary sees?

His stunning bride.

Sealed with a kiss!

The happy couple!

It was quite dark after the ceremony...and a little chilly too...but we snuck in a few portraits along the river.

A ring shot on Tori's gift to Gary at their rehearsal dinner.

First dance.

Damask details.
Lots of dancing.

And my two favorite shots of the night. I know these might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love them! Who knew a stairwell could look so cool!?

I have been without my computer and internet for the last 3 days so if you have emailed me, thank you for your patience, I will get back to you in the next day or two.

Drew + Avery

So sweet and so cute. It was great to see an old highschool friend and his two beautiful children for a quick session that will be a surprise for their mom. I hope she likes them as much as I do...and if you know her and you are seeing these and reading this....PLEASE do not tell her or give her this link. I am going to surpise her with the pictures, but they were too cute not to post.

The World's Happiest Baby

Okay, seriously....this cutie did nothing but smile and coo and giggle and smile...ALL day. Every picture I took looks almost exactly the same...smiling!

Her cousin loves her!

On a different note...check out this site called www.goodsearch.com. You pick a charity and use their Yahoo based search engine when you do a web search and money gets donated free everytime you search. Sure it's only a penny per search but its free and does some good....and who couldn't use a little "good" in their life right now...and it doesn't cost you..even a penny ;-)

Minnah

What a sweetheart! I am going to change these to bigger pictures later and add a few more words about this cutie. But for now, here is a sneak peek for her parents.

Jodi + Jason - The Slideshow

So not only does Blogger not like me, but add my slideshow program to the list as well. I have tried to "create" this slideshow 10 times now. It will not let me reorder the images to "tell the story" the way I want it to, but I have to get back to actually editing the wedding images so I am going to run it as is. The images are actually in chronological order but when I get free moments during the day, I run around shooting details and other things going on. Since this wedding was at the same location as the reception and the same location we did candids, there are reception detail images interspersed throughout. Hopefully it won't distract or confuse ;-)

Congratulations Jodi and Jason. Thank you for allowing us to share in your day! Click here or on the title of the post to see the show.

Deep Breath

It's been one of those weeks...just mentally and physically "not berry good"...as my son would say.

But hopefully, things will change for the better..they always do eventually. I have so many blessings and I need to remind myself how lucky I am, especially for my husband, mom, dad, son (who thinks he can fix anything with his doctor kit) and the rest of my family.

And just so that this post isn't a complete downer...here's a few recent pictures that make me smile.

The Skriba Family

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the Skriba family at their family farm in Elsie, Michigan. They were a pleasure to work with and I hope even though large group portraits aren't my specialty (I warned them ahead of time) that they still enjoy and cherish these images of three generations for years to come.

It's here...and it's lovely

Blogger and I are going to have it out! It ate another 3 paragraph entry and I am so behind, I just don't have the time to retype it. So, here's another post with modified narration (oh good, some of you are thinking).

New album company...sample order arrived yesterday. Plain white corrugated box, nothing fancy, but the company promotes "green packaging".

Photobucket

More "green" packaging...but a little nicer than the outer box.

Photobucket

They offer a ton of cover fabrics, even two tone and image inserts. The red is really nice, bright and fun but not obnoxious. I didn't want to order black ;-)

Photobucket

They offer rounded or square spines.

Photobucket

Rounded cover corner and just a very slightly rounded edge of the pages, they almost look square.

Photobucket

Nice texture on the leather.

Photobucket

Inside the cover.

Photobucket

Pages are thick and sturdy and you can sort of see the slightly rounded edges.

Photobucket

For best results, they recommend the first page start on the right and not be a spread.

Photobucket

A spread to show the gutter when the image doesn't cross the middle of the book.

Photobucket

A sample spread to show the small gutter.

Photobucket

Final single sided page.

Photobucket

How they mark their studio samples.

I also purchased one of their self-mount albums which has folded pages and a square spine. More images to come.
